Longtime guitarist for Ray Wylie Hubbard, Michael O'Connor finally steps up to the mic and releases a solo album titled "Green And Blue." Produced by Ray Wylie Hubbard, the CD is a collection of Michael's original tunes with the exception of the Willie Dixon song, "Same Thing." I've been a fan of Mike's guitar work, both with Ray Wylie and with Bret Graham, but this is my first time to hear him handle lead vocal duties as well. I'm happy to report he does a fine job in that department as well. The CD opens with the melodic "Slips Through Your Fingers," which displays fine acoustic guitar playing and background vocals by Terri Hendrix. I think "The One Who Waits For You" is as good if not better than anything you hear on the radio today.
